Bon Voyage Stanley Cup

Compiled From Wire Services

The Stanley Cup, which has been to barrooms and churches, the White House and TV talk shows, is going somewhere it’s never been before - to Russia.

Next month, the Cup is being flown to Moscow by three of the Russian players who helped the Detroit Red Wings win it, Slava Fetisov, Vyacheslav Kozlov and Igor Larionov.

The trophy will be paraded through the streets of Moscow, and then put it on display in Red Square.

The NHL has switched its All-Star game from a Saturday night to a Sunday afternoon, with next season’s game scheduled for Jan. 18 at Vancouver.
