Levi Strauss To Sell Brittania Sportswear

Compiled From Wire Services

Levi Strauss & Co. is selling its Brittania Sportswear Ltd. trademarks and inventory to VF Corp. and closing its Brittania headquarters in Renton and a distribution center in Fife.

VF, the maker of Lee and Wrangler brand jeans, said Wednesday it had agreed to buy Brittania from Levi.

Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

An estimated 60 employees in Renton and 40 in Fife will be affected by the closures, Levi spokesman Bradford Williams said. The transaction and layoffs should be finalized by the end of June, Williams said.
