Northridge Makes Cuts

California State University, Northridge, cut four men’s varsity sports programs - baseball, volleyball, soccer and swimming and diving - due to budget and gender-equity concerns.

The sports will be discontinued effective for the 1997-98 season.

Cal State Northridge will continue development of its men’s golf program, which had earlier been placed on the potential chopping block.
