Apartment Fire Leaves 38 Residents Homeless
A three-alarm fire at an apartment complex early Thursday left 38 people homeless, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The fire destroyed 26 of the complex’s 31 apartments, according to Olympia fire officials.
Five other units sustained heavy water and smoke damage.
Several cars that were parked nearby also were destroyed, KOMO-TV reported.
The fire started at about 1:30 a.m. and was brought under control about two hours later.
The cause was not immediately known and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
