Court To Hear River Park Lawsuit
A lawsuit challenging the city of Spokane’s involvement in the downtown River Park Square project will be heard by the state Supreme Court today.
TVW, the state public affairs television network, will broadcast the hearing live on Citycable 5, the city’s government access channel. The hearing begins at 1:30 p.m. and is expected to last about 45 minutes.
The lawsuit, filed by Spokane attorney Steve Eugster against the city, will determine whether a city ordinance providing public support for construction of the development’s parking garage is constitutional.
The parking garage is part of the planned $100 million redevelopment of River Park Square, which is to include a new Nordstrom store, multiplex cinema and other shops and restaurants. , DataTimes
