Glacier Park Road To Reopen
A popular tourist road in Montana’s Glacier National Park is scheduled to open today despite record snowfall this winter.
Glacier’s Going-to-the-Sun Road, which crosses the Continental Divide at Logan Pass, will open to vehicle traffic, said David Mihalic, the park’s superintendent.
“The park road crew has worked very hard since April to clear the entire 50-mile historic road to provide two-way access for vehicles between St. Mary and West Glacier,” Mihalic said.
The Logan Pass Visitor Center and restrooms still won’t be available for at least another week, Mihalic said.
Barring delays caused by extreme weather changes, Logan Pass will remain open round-the-clock.
