Eagle Hardware In Third After Two Weeks Of Play

It may seem difficult to envision North Side American Legion baseball teams from Shadle Park playing in the South Division of AA and A leagues.

So far, the results have been favorable, and neither team can complain.

Eagle Hardware, Shadle’s AA entrant, was 5-1 and in third place through Tuesday following the first two weeks of the season.

Included were a pair of high-scoring one-run victories and a solid 2-0 triumph over Spokane Federal Credit Union.

Levi Penick had seven hits in four games including a triple and two doubles.

In the North Division, B&C Telephone moved into a share of first place with Tuesday’s 3-2 win over co-leader Panorama Twins.

B&C has gotten solid pitching, including a no-hitter, to win five of six games.

Hess/Wheeler from Mead is a game behind after beating Washington Trust Bank on Monday, 14-4.

In the A league, Shadle’s Tony Roma won its first five South Division games.

Tonight the team plays another unbeaten, Carsten’s Marine, the first of four games in three days, including a Saturday doubleheader.

Deer Park Eagles have the early North Division lead over McDonald’s, one of two Mount Spokane league entrants.
