Kids Can Visit ‘World Of Safety’

Area children are invited to journey through the “World of Safety” at Saturday’s Emergency Services Day fair.

The event, scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Silver Lake Mall, will feature appearances by the Crash Test Dummies, Smokey the Bear, and a donkey and her baby from the Panhandle Equine Rescue. Local power companies will offer free bucket rides.

Children will be given a “passport,” which they will have stamped at each emergency informational booth. The first 500 kids to complete the journey through the “World of Safety,” will receive a prize. , DataTimes
