Edwards Files Suit
British shot putter Paul Edwards went to the High Court to try and persuade a judge to temporarily lift a drug suspension and allow him to compete in the World Championships at Athens in August.
Banned for four years in August 1994 after failing two drug tests, Edwards, who has maintained his innocence, is suing track’s world governing body, the International Amateur Athletic Federation, and the British Athletic Federation, saying that the ban amounts to a restraint of trade.
