Figure In Courthouse Protest Accused Of Abusing Minor
A former Pocatello resident who protested a Ten Commandments monument on the lawn of the Bannock County Courthouse is scheduled to appear in district court on a felony charge of abusing a minor.
Andrew Albanese, 40, Twin Falls, is accused of abusing a female minor while living in Pocatello in 1993, Bannock County Deputy Prosecutor Kay Lyon said.
Albanese is a former Idaho State University student who initiated a federal lawsuit against Bannock County because of a Ten Commandments monument in front of the courthouse.
U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge ruled that the monument did not violate the constitutional separation of church and state, and allowed it to remain.
