Not A Leg To Stand On

Kidnappers who swiped two pink flamingos from a Coeur d’Alene yard last week got a little carried away themselves. Owner Alena Rhoades said somebody knocked on the door Monday night, then ran off, leaving two ransom notes. One said if she wanted to see the pink flamingos again, she should show up at the city golf course at 9 the next night. The other said to bring $10 per bird. But Rhoades says the abductors can keep plastic critters. “I only paid $7.99 for the two of them,” she said.
