Former Gu Rector Resigns College Post

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Rev. Peter B. Ely has resigned as president of Rockhurst College, the school’s board of trustees announced Saturday.

Ely, 58, stepped down after less than a year in the post. Ely, then rector of the Jesuit Community at Gonzaga University, was chosen by Rockhurst in May 1996 to succeed the Rev. Thomas J. Savage. He assumed duties in August.

In a news release, Ely said his future plans were undetermined.

Attempts to reach Ely for further comment were unsuccessful.
