Man’s Body Found In Alfalfa Field Identified

Authorities have identified the man whose body was found Monday in an alfalfa field southeast of Hansen as a local man who worked as a janitor and maintenance man at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds.

An autopsy on Tuesday also showed that Gene Hartwig, 48, had been dead about 48 hours when his body was discovered by a farm worker. Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Lt. Dan Hall said investigators believe they know where the homicide occurred and have ideas about the motive.
