Ten years ago: The White House announced that analysis of two polyps removed from President Reagan’s colon showed they were benign.

Five years ago: Authorities found the body of kidnapped Exxon executive Sidney J. Reso buried in a makeshift grave in Bass River State Park in New Jersey. Arthur and Irene Seale, were later convicted and sentenced to prison for the crime.

One year ago: President Clinton and other Group of Seven leaders meeting in Lyon, France, pledged solidarity against terrorism following a truck bombing in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 Americans. A Dallas police officer was charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill football star Michael Irvin; Johnnie Hernandez later pleaded guilty to solicitation of capital murder.
