Gun Incident Yields 2 More Arrests

From Staff And Wire Reports

FOR THE RECORD: 6-30-97 Place wrong: A brief in Sunday’s Spokesman-Review incorrectly reported that the garage where Paul A. Boardman was arrested on Friday was his.

When police arrested a man for waving a revolver in his garage, little did they know he would eventually lead them to two convicted felons.

Paul A. Boardman, 33, had a revolver in his hand and was raving to himself when police found him Friday afternoon on the 700 block of East 35th Avenue.

He threatened a police officer but later followed officers’ orders to place the weapon on the ground.

When Boardman was booked into jail on weapons and drug counts, he told police that he heard shots fired from a nearby home. He also said someone there was injured.

Police investigated his claim at 828 E. 33rd Ave. and found a man hiding a handgun. After obtaining a search warrant, they later found additional weapons, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Police arrested residents Todd R. Lutz, 37, and Kathryn R. Elliott, 36.

The two are convicted felons, police said. They were booked for being felons in possession of a firearm and also for drug counts.
