Man Sentenced In Courthouse Bomb Plot
A La Grande man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for his role in a botched plot to bomb the Union County Courthouse.
Samuel Wrede Shaw, 31, was described by prosecutors as the ringleader of a group of three people who tried twice to detonate seven sticks of dynamite outside the courthouse last December.
Shaw, who was sentenced Friday, pleaded guilty April 30 to possessing a destructive device.
Two other suspects, Edward Hua, 25, and Elizabeth Davis, 41, are to go on trial July 15.
