Pipe Bomb Ban Goes To Senate, 61-0
Legislation banning possession of pipe bombs passed the House on a 61-0 vote Friday, and now heads to the Senate.
Before approving the bill, the House attached several amendments, including an emergency clause making the bill effective as soon as it’s signed into law.
Prosecutors have long complained that Idaho has no law banning possession of bombs, and federal authorities generally don’t have time to prosecute possession cases. Just this month, police found two pipe bombs packed with nails in Kootenai County, and couldn’t bring charges.
