Robbery Suspect Fled Group Home
A young man arrested for two convenience-store robberies had escaped from a state juvenile facility.
Travis Sregzinski, 18, was serving an armed robbery sentence at Canyon View Group Home in East Wenatchee when he walked away last week, authorities said.
Prosecutors expect to charge Sregzinski in Yakima County Superior Court next week with two counts of first-degree robbery and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail at the Yakima County jail.
Police accuse Sregzinski of brandishing a handgun during a robbery at AJ’s Deli on Thursday evening. About four hours later, the suspect was caught on videotape allegedly robbing a 7-Eleven store, police said.
An hour after the second robbery, police responded to a report of a man with a gun running into an apartment. Sregzinski was arrested without incident in the apartment, police said.
