Unarmed Man Robs South Hill Bank

From Staff And Wire Reports

An unarmed man robbed a South Hill bank Monday afternoon even though a police substation is just two blocks away.

The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from Washington Trust Bank, 3008 E. 29th, about 2:15 p.m., police said. The COPS Southeast substation is at 2824 E. 29th.

Bank employees described the robber as a thin white man in his early 30s with medium to dark hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Police said the man wore an orange ski mask, a red shirt and blue jeans.
