Two Hurt When Minivan Collides With Truck
A Spokane man and his 9-year-old daughter were hurt when their minivan collided with a semi-truck carrying molten aluminum Tuesday morning.
The wreck occurred about 7:45 a.m. at Trent and Sullivan in the Spokane Valley, Washington State Patrol troopers said.
Jesus Fielice-Camel was driving his 1987 Ford Aerostar east on Trent when he lost control on the snow-covered road, troopers said.
The minivan spun into the westbound lane, where it was hit by a 1983 Freightliner driven by Edward Muehle of Post Falls.
The truck was carrying molten aluminum from the nearby Kaiser factory. The cargo did not spill.
Troopers said the force of the impact threw Fielice-Camel and his daughter, Daniella, out the back window of the Aerostar, even though they were both wearing their seat belts.
Fielice-Camel, 34, received upper body lacerations in the crash. His daughter broke her leg. Both were taken by ambulance to Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Muehle was not injured. , DataTimes
