Abduction Suspect Sought By Police

From Staff Reports

Police have released two sketches of a man suspected of trying to abduct children in the Coeur d’Alene area.

Two girls in separate cases have reported that a similar-looking man approached them last month.

In one case, a 14-year-old girl willingly got into the man’s car after he offered her a ride. The man then unzipped his pants and exposed himself to her and refused to let her out of the car where she asked him to, according to a police report. She was able to escape unharmed.

In a separate case, a 13-year-old girl told police that the man first tried to talk her into the car. Later, he grabbed her and shoved her into his vehicle. She escaped through a window unharmed, according to a police report.

The man is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall, in his late teens to mid-20s. He has brown hair. In one of the incidents he was wearing a blue baseball hat.

The man’s car is described as an older model two-door vehicle colored primer gray. It may have a hatchback. The interior is a black or dark green vinyl-type material.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320.
