Program Seeks Parents Who Can Mentor Others

ParentShare, a new volunteer program in Rockford and Fairfield, is looking for parents to become mentors.

The program is based on the concept that parents who have raised their children to adulthood can offer invaluable help to younger parents.

The program is coordinated by Washington State University Extension and will be training volunteer mentors this spring.

Applications for ParentShare can be obtained by calling Chris Koehler at the Cooperative Extension office at 533-2048, ext. 113. The deadline for applications is Monday.

Mentor training sessions will be held every other Monday, from March 24 through May 5. Classes will alternate between the Fairfield Presbytarian Church and the Rockford Methodist Church. The training is free.
