Even though the Willapa Valley boys made an early exit Thursday morning by losing to Tacoma Baptist, the Vikings left having provided this year’s State B tournament with two of its toughest competitors.

Along with senior Luke Salme, who won a life-threatening battle with bone cancer when he was just 10 years old, Valley also boasted the talents of senior guard Mike Miller, who nearly lost his right hand in a forklift accident at his father’s radiator shop three summer’s ago. , DataTimes
