Key to the game: The Nannies, with just seven players (two freshman joined the tournament team), stayed out of foul trouble and away from injuries, and Marcy Stennes poured in 30 points.

Other highlights: Thanks to Katie Supinger’s 11 of 16 shooting, Reardan made 22 of 44 attempts but was only 2 of 6 on 3’s and 4 of 7 from the foul line. The Indians had 13 assists but 14 turnovers. The Nannies had just seven turnovers. Annie Neuneke had 12 points, eight in the second half for Pateros.

Key to the game: The Wildcats defense completely flustered the Bruins into 21 turnovers and 25 percent (15-57) shooting with their 2-3 zone and press.

Other highlights: Clallam Bay had scoring droughts of 4:40, 3:44 and 2:55 in the first half, the last one stretching to 6:30 as the Bruins went more than half the third quarter without scoring. Alyssa Erickson had five steals for W-C and 3 assists with her game-high 18 points. The Wildcats hit four of six 3’s.

Key to the game: The Eagles (23-5) simply shot the ball better from the floor. SJE made 21 of 45 shots (47 percent), while the Coyotes (21-5) hit just 17 of 46 (37 percent). SJE also got to the free-throw line 16 more times, outscoring Kittitas 13-6.

Other highlights: Freshman Kim Colyar came off the bench to score nine points for the Eagles. Lamb finished 11 of 18 from the floor, 1 of 2 from 3-point range. Alyssum Myrick paced Kittitas with 10 points, but was just 5 of 18 from the floor.

Key to the game: The Broncos Big Three outshot the Mountaineers Big Gun. Megan Wellsandt, Megan Yerxa and Shannon Russel combined for 41 points on 18-of-35 shooting, while Rainier’s Chante Schutz scored a game- high 24 points on 8-of-24 shooting (2 of 12 from 3-point range).

Other highlights: Ritzville outscored the Mountaineers 31 to 17 in the first and fourth quarters combined. Rainier made just 28 percent of its shots from the floor (16-57). Ritzville connected at a 48 percent clip (24-50). Rainier stayed in the game by forcing 15 turnovers. Rainier also struggled at the free-throw line (9 of 20). Ritzville attempted just seven free-throws, making four.

Key to the game: With the game tied at 25, Lexi Rhodes made three straight baskets that started a 10-0 run which turned into a 15-2 surge in the last three minutes of the game for the Invaders.

Other highlights: The Vikings only shot 18 percent (9-51). Rhodes finished with 11 points and 18 rebounds, eight on the offensive end. Nicole Counts had 14 rebounds for Summit, which had a 52-35 edge on the boards. The Invaders, who made their first state appearance last year, got their first win.

Key to the game: The game was tied at 45 with 5 minutes left when the Crusaders took charge. A 10-2 run, with six points by Heather Broekhuis, made it 59-49 heading into the final minute.

Other highlights: Broekhuis finished with 21 points, making 10 of 12 free throws and five of eight shots, including her only 3. She also had eight rebounds, six steals and five assists. Heidi Broekhuis, also a senior, had 14 points and five assists, and sophomore Cara Prins had 14 points. Jessica Sell had 15 points and seven steals for Northport. Sophomore Karen Sauvola had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Another Mustang sophomore, Candace Young, had 12 rebounds and nine points.

Key to the game: Erin Dahlquist scored 25 points and Dawn Murphy and Beth Andrew 20 apiece as the Ducks held off the Warriors. Dahlquist also grabbed 14 rebounds, Andrew had 12 and Murphy dished off six assists.

Other highlights: Toutle Lake took a 12-point lead by outscoring the Warriors 13-5 in the third quarter. Each of the Ducks’ high-scoring trio had two buckets in the quarter. TL had a 45-30 edge in rebounding. Melissa Wallace had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Trina Swift had 14 points and five assists for KW. Nine of Andrew’s rebounds were on the offensive end.

Key to the game: Tekoa-Oakesdale’s second-ranked Nighthawks scored the last eight points of the game to recover from a fourth-quarter collapse that saw them blow a 13-point lead because they only made seven of 16 free throws.

Other highlights: The Nighthawks only made 16 of 32 free throws, but the third-ranked Loggers were just 10 of 27. Abbie Pierce, 6-2, rebounded from a six-point opening game to score 21 for the Loggers and Mindy McElliott had 14 points and 18 rebounds. Heather Cox had 24 points for T-O, and the 6-foot sophomore post gave the Nighthawks the lead for good with a 3-pointer.
