Books And More At Good Shepherd

Nina Culver Correspondent

You can buy a book, pick up some computer software or even get you oil changed this weekend at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

The church at 810 S. Sullivan Road is holding an educational book fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Macintosh and IBM compatible computer software, videos, current textbooks, literature and study guides for all grade levels, readers with teacher’s guides, and driver’s education manuals are among the items for sale.

Proceeds will be used to train the staff of the LOGOS program, a youth program now in its second year at the church, 810 S. Sullivan Road.

The church men’s group is holding its spring oil change fund raiser today and Sunday. Anyone who wants their oil changed simply needs to bring oil and a new oil filter to the parking lot of the church. People are also asked to bring an empty milk jug for disposal of the old oil.

All donations received will be used to help pave the church parking lot. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Creating healthy kids

“Healthy Youth/Healthy Communities” is the name of a new class now being offered at Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway.

The class will address ways that we as individuals and as churches can help build our youth into strong people.

Facilitator Laurie Ingebritsen of Lutheran Social Services will also cover ways to involve youth in the community and the church. The free class will meet on every Sunday in March at 9:50 a.m. For more information, call 928-7733.
