Security Beefed Up At Jewish Community Center
Security has been increased at the Jewish Community Center in this Seattle suburb following an explosion that was found to be from a pipe bomb.
There were no injuries or damage from the blast Monday evening in an upper parking lot some distance from the 90,000-square-foot building, which was busy with parents picking up children and other activity at the time. No threats were received, nor did anyone claim responsibility, police Sgt. Glen Booth said.
Investigators believe the device was a pipe bomb attached to a battery-powered timer and left in a shopping bag in open view on the pavement about 20 feet from a couple of parked cars, Booth said.
