Snowshoeing
Among winter sports, snowshoeing has virtually no learning curve, thanks to modern innovations in snowshoe design.
Perhaps that’s why the sport is showing such impressive growth.
Industries America, a snow-sports trade association, cites:
Americans bought 140,000 to 150,000 pairs of aluminum snowshoes last winter, compared with 110,000 pairs in the 1994-95 winter.
The number of shops carrying snowshoes more than doubled, from 453 stores in 1995 to 1,041 in 1996.
About 600,000 people snowshoed in the ‘95-96 season, up by 160,000 from the previous winter , DataTimes
