Sherman Simpson Spokane

Sherman M. Simpson is 100 years old today. He was born March 10, 1897, in Tangent, Ore.

He and Ruth A. Morrow were married in 1920 and now live in the Spokane Valley, where they moved 62 years ago.

Mr. Simpson began his career as a barber in Washtucna, Wash., before years of cutting hair in Hillyard-area shops.

The Simpsons had one child, Milly Ruth Austen, who died in 1983; they have two grandchildren.
