The seventh of 12 Lilac Festival princesses was chosen Monday night.

Malia Holst, a West Valley High School senior, will represent her school. She is the daughter of Barbara Holst.

Holst, 17, is captain of the varsity cheerleaders and a member of the National Honor Society. She enjoys dancing and volleyball.

She plans to attend Gonzaga University and wants to study science and become a medical researcher.

One of the princesses will be named Lilac Queen April 12 at Shadle Park High.
