Washington Trust Absorbs Northern

Coeur d’Alene-based Northern State Bank will be consolidated into its Spokane sister bank, Washington Trust, this weekend.

Both are subsidiaries of W.T.B. Financial Corp. Although Northern State’s branches will get Washington Trust signs as part of the transformation, bank officials stress there will be little, if any, change in customer accounts.

Northern State President Parker Woodall, who will become Washington Trust’s area president, said the bank will be able to offer customers more services and products as a result of the consolidation.

Among those, added Vice President Lea Werner, are trust services, more mortgage lending and higher loan limits from commercial customers.

Northern State adds a Rathdrum branch Friday, which will bring its total to four. , DataTimes
