Montana Girl Injured In Accident
A 5-year-old Montana girl was in critical condition late Thursday after being injured in a car wreck on Interstate 90 in Spokane.
Yancey Benjamin fractured her skull in the 12:50 p.m. collision near the Maple Street exit, Washington State Patrol troopers reported.
The girl was a passenger in a 1990 Mercury Sable being driven east by Marilyn Partain of Missoula, troopers said.
Partain, 47, slammed into the back of a 1993 Honda Accord that had stalled in the center lane because of mechanical problems, the WSP reported.
Partain suffered bumps and bruises in the wreck. Yancey’s mother, 43-year-old Jolinda Benjamin, also was hurt. The three were taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
The driver of the Honda, 39-year-old Kenneth Proszak of Chewelah was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises.
Everyone was wearing seat belts, troopers said. , DataTimes
