Passing Images

A group of women at The Spokesman-Review is studying how women are portrayed in the newspaper. Members of this women’s committee examined newspapers from their childhood years and compared them with newspapers that appeared on their most recent birth dates. Here are essays from staff writers Karen Dorn Steele, 53, Alison Boggs, 29, and Jennifer Plunkett, 24.
