Plastic Surgeon Charged With Rape

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Kirkland plastic surgeon has been charged with raping a patient while she was under anesthesia.

Gregory Alan Johnson, 46, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree rape and assault, according to Kirkland police.

He was being held at the King County Jail in lieu of $750,000.

The alleged victim was a former patient who had continued to see Johnson at the Institute for Aesthetic Surgery for follow-up visits, Deputy Prosecutor Robert Knief said in charging papers filed in King County Superior Court.

The woman had gone to her Monday appointment with Johnson, which lasted about 45 minutes, Knief said. Johnson and the woman met later that evening at a hotel for drinks. The woman had several glasses of champagne, while Johnson had several glasses of wine, according to Knief.

They then picked up snacks and returned to Johnson’s office to eat them in the reception area.

When Johnson tried to fondle her breasts, the woman objected, according to prosecutors. Johnson took her into an operating room to show her medical equipment used in her surgery. He then forcibly applied an anesthetic mask until she lost consciousness, according to Knief.

She later discovered signs she had been sexually assaulted, police said.

While investigating the incident, Kirkland police say they discovered that another woman had filed a civil suit against Johnson for the same thing.

Four more women have contacted police to lodge similar complaints against the cosmetic surgeon, according to prosecutors.
