Man Wins $400,000 In Age-Bias Lawsuit
A North Miami Beach man who claimed age discrimination was awarded more than $400,000 in a suit accusing former colleagues of calling him “old man” and “senile,” a lawyer said.
A federal court jury in Fort Lauderdale awarded Leonard Lowinger $232,000 in punitive damages and compensatory damages, plus $185,134 in lost wages, said Walter W. Palmer, a lawyer for the plaintiff.
Lowinger had just turned 62 when he was fired from his job as general manager of a health company.
