Only One License Needed For Pawnshops

Compiled From Wire Services

Pawnshop owners who are licensed in a city won’t have to get a county license, too, under legislation signed into law Monday by Gov. Phil Batt.

“I’m for that,” Batt said as he signed the bill. “You can get licensed to death.”

Terry Jellison, owner of Caldwell Pawn, thought up the idea and lobbied for the legislation with help from Rep. Ron Crane, R-Caldwell.
