3 Suspected Drunken Drivers Arrested In 1 Traffic Stop
Washington State Patrol troopers hit a trifecta in the Spokane Valley early Wednesday, arresting three suspected drunken drivers in one stop.
Trooper Mark Haas was patroling near Trent and Argonne just after midnight when he spotted three cars speeding north on Argonne.
Haas stopped one of the cars near Argonne and Maringo, and arrested Spokane resident Michael Craggett, 38, on suspicion of DUI.
As Haas was writing Craggett up, one of the other cars drove up to the scene. Craggett’s 41-year-old wife, Terri, was driving. She, too, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Minutes later, a man claiming to be a friend of the Craggetts walked up and asked what was going on. Troopers noticed that he appeared intoxicated and warned him not to drive.
The man, 33-year-old Birch Abraham of Spokane, promised he wouldn’t and jogged away.
A short time later, WSP Sgt. Lee Boling spotted a car driving without its headlights on. He pulled over the car, found Abraham behind the wheel and arrested him on suspicion of DUI. , DataTimes
