Survey Seeks Information On Export Sales

Strategic Resources, a Spokane consulting firm, will survey 350 companies in the next few weeks to determine what they need to start or grow their export sales operations.

The Spokane Regional International Trade Alliance is sponsoring the project, which will cover nine counties in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

SRITA acting director Karen Marshall said Strategic Resource’s proposal best met the goals set by the alliance.

“Budgetary constraints demand that we focus on the most meaningful opportunities,” she said. “We also need to determine what kind of support our members need and how to best deliver that support.”

Mike Rennaker, president of Strategic Resources, said the company has developed a profile of a typical Spokane-area exporter.

The survey will include a sampling of those companies as well as companies with similar characteristics that are not exporting.

“Our region already generates significant international trade, but there is much more that can be done,” he said. “More trade means more jobs.”

Survey results should be ready by the end of April, Rennaker said.
