Hawks Home For First Two Games; Jets Up First, Broncos To Follow
The Seattle Seahawks will start the 1997 National Football League season with two home games.
The Seahawks meet the Jets in the Kingdome for the opener on Aug. 31, and the Denver Broncos come to town the following Sunday, the team said Wednesday as the NFL announced its upcoming schedule.
The only nationally televised game on Seattle’s schedule is the final on on Dec. 21, at home against the San Francisco 49ers.
The schedule also includes three straight road games in November and the Seahawks’ first game against the Ravens in Baltimore.
The 14-game opening day schedule features a rematch of the 1996 Super Bowl finalists, with the Dallas Cowboys playing the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The Green Bay Packers begin defense of their Super Bowl crown on Sept. 1, a Monday night home game against the Chicago Bears.
