Gunman Robs Licensing Office

From Staff Reports

An armed robber who was dressed in Crocodile Dundee-style attire with a nylon mask over his head robbed a Department of Licensing office on the South Hill just before the end of the workday on Friday.

Police were still looking for the man.

The lone gunman stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the office at 613 S. Washington just before 5 p.m., according to police Sgt. Dan Torok.

Eyewitnesses described the man as a white male, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, 185 to 200 pounds with blond hair and a light mustache.

The man wore an Australian Outback type hat, camouflage pants and a dark blue jean jacket, according to police.

Torok said the man cut the phone lines at the office before leaving the building’s rear exit. , DataTimes
