Crash Aids Skate Win

Three skaters crashed into each other just before the finish line, allowing Yang Yang of China to skate through to the victory in the women’s 500 meters at the World Short Track Speedskating Championships.

Isabelle Charest of Canada, the defending champion, was leading when she fell to the ice with Italian Marinella Canclini and Chinese Wang Chunlu.

Charest finished second.
