Vehicle, Site Fees Go Up At Most Parks
It’s going to cost more to use state park facilities this summer.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has raised fees at most of Idaho’s 23 state parks to recover a higher percentage of what it costs to operate the parks.
The motorized vehicle entrance fees at Farragut, Old Mission, Eagle Island, Lucky Peak, Henry’s Lake, Harriman and Ponderosa were raised from $2 to $3. The department said it was the first increase in seven years.
Costs for primitive and basic camping sites remained the same.
Developed sites, which include a table, grill, campspur, central water and flush toilets, went up $2 to $12 per night. If campers want electricity at the site, they pay an additional $4, up $1 from last year.
