Spokane’s Architecture Celebrated
“Spokane: Lost and Found” is a salute to Spokane architecture that has been torn down, and historic buildings that have been saved.
The Chase Gallery display, on the lower level of City Hall, continues through May 30 in recognition of National Historic Week, May 11-17.
Some of the artifacts include double doors and stained glass windows from Brunot Hall School for Girls; fluted wood columns from the demolished Pine Court apartments; and the bronze panel from the elevator cage of the former Empire State Building (now Great Western).
There are also pieces of tile, moldings, signs and wallpaper from historic homes and businesses.
The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Spokane City and County Landmarks Commission, and Luminaria, a downtown vintage lighting store. , DataTimes
