Teen Critically Injured In Motorcycle Accident

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 16-year-old Spokane boy was critically injured Tuesday when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a pickup near Felts Field.

A 14-year-old girl who was a passenger on the motorcycle was hurt but not hospitalized, police said.

The collision occurred about 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Commerce Street and Airport Road.

Police said the boy was driving west on Commerce at high speed when he hit the right front side of the truck, which was northbound on Airport.

The impact turned the pickup 90 degrees and sent the two teenagers, who weren’t wearing helmets, flying over the motorcycle’s handlebars, officers said.
