Silver Mountain at Kellogg, the region’s only ski resort extending its season to take advantage of a mind-blowing snowpack, will open all its major lifts Saturday for a spring skiing party.

Lifts will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets cost $15. Skiers with a season pass from any other resort get a $5 discount.

The conditions range from superb to slushy, depending on the weather. But there’s no shortage of snow: 134 inches at mid-mountain and 175 at the top.

“We promised skiers that as long as 1,000 skiers show, we’ll open the following Saturday,” said Terry Turnbow, resort spokesman. “We’ll let skiers know Saturday at noon whether we can open again next week.”
