5 N. Idaho Schools Honored By Iea
Five North Idaho schools are among 27 being honored statewide by the Idaho Education Association.
They are Bryan and Dalton Garden elementary schools in Coeur d’Alene; Clark Fork Junior-Senior High School; and Ponderosa Elementary and Post Falls Junior High in Post Falls.
“We deliberately set the bar high,” said IEA President Monica Beaudoin, who was in Coeur d’Alene on Monday. “So I am more than pleased, I am thrilled, to learn about the remarkable examples of the miracles that are taking place in Idaho’s public school classrooms every day.”
The IEA, which represents teachers, is presenting its second annual Excellence in Education awards this month. Last year, 44 schools were chosen.
The criteria for the awards include long-range, continuous improvement; clear, achievable goals; continual assessment of academic programs; and consistent staff development.
The honored schools each receive a plaque. Staff members receive lapel pins, and students get ribbons that can double as bookmarks. , DataTimes
