Dollar Stages Rally
The dollar tumbled below 120 yen for the first time in nearly four months Monday in the aftermath of the frenetic selloff late last week, but it partly recovered and rallied against European currencies.
Supportive comments by senior Japanese officials, severe mark weakness against the yen and the pound, and strong rallies in the U.S. stock and bond markets combined to help the dollar recoup somewhat from its worst extended retreat in more than 1-1/2 years.
