Explosion Rocks Propane Business

Associated Press

An explosion rocked a propane gas business Monday, blasting out a corner of the cinder-block building and forcing at least 100 families from nearby homes. One worker was critically burned.

The explosion occurred after 3 p.m. EST at Tenbrook Sales, Heating and Cooling in Kokomo. The blast started a fire that burned itself out in less than a hour, destroying the one-story building’s roof.

A spokeswoman said the explosion occurred in a maintenance garage, near where propane tanks are filled. The cause has not been determined.
