Woman Appointed To Fish, Game Panel

Sandpoint resident Nancy Hanson will be the first woman to serve on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission. She was appointed Monday by Gov. Phil Batt.

Hanson is a native Idahoan and president and CEO of Sand-Ida Services Inc. The Sandpoint company owns the Edgewater Resort, the Quality Inn, Pastime Cafe, BP Supermart and a land development group.

Hanson also is an avid outdoorswoman and a member of the Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association. She’s hunted deer and elk for more than 20 years and was a hunter’s education instructor for 13 years.

“She understands the importance of hunting, fishing, and recreation to Idaho’s economy, Batt said. “As a commissioner, Hanson will work to preserve Idaho’s quality of life and its outdoor opportunities.” , DataTimes
