Fighter Terry Norris sued boxing promoter Don King for $64.5 million and asked the court nullify a “horribly one-sided and unfair” contract that his manager allegedly misled him into signing. The contract gives Norris, the WBC welterweight champ, “only illusory compensation” for a title match, it is claimed in the suit.

Former Notre Dame basketball coach Digger Phelps has expressed interest in the DePaul coaching job left open by the departure of Joey Meyer.

Dennis Conner is back in the America’s Cup hunt as he will represent the Cortez Racing Association, a small yacht club in San Diego, Conner’s hometown, in the America’s Cup, which will be held off Auckland, New Zealand, in 1999-2000.
