Spokane City Council

Monday, 3:30 p.m. briefing, lower-level conference room 6 p.m. regular meeting City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The council will consider rescinding plans to condemn Steve and Leslie Ronald’s riverfront property just north of the downtown library. Council members also will consider giving a telecommunications franchise to Electric Lightwave of Vancouver, Wash.

Spokane County commissioners

Among other matters at its 2 p.m. meeting, commissioners may impose limits on new developments on about 8 square miles of Glenrose Prairie, Moran Prairie and Central Park neighborhoods. Only developments with lined evaporation ponds would be allowed. Planners say increased development has led to persistent flooding in those neighborhoods, south of the Spokane city limits.

Spokane’s Sports, Entertainment, Arts and Convention Advisory Board

Tuesday, 3 p.m. regular meeting, Bay 4 Ag Trade Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The board will discuss plans to expand the convention center.

Among other matters, the board will hear a financial report from the executive director.

Spokane Parks and Recreation Department/Lincoln Heights Steering Committee

The Parks Department and the steering committee will discuss improvements to Thornton Murphy Park and the South Hill Senior Center.

The council will discuss proposed changes to the city’s charter drafted by the citizens committee known as the Community Partners.

The board will discuss early design concepts for the convention center.
